New home away from home

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

I have been slacking on my blog as of late, but I do have a good excuse. I started my first artist-residency at Illiterate Gallery at the beginning of this year. I finally have my own studio space, I’m pretty excited! I’m have been up at the wee hours of the night the past few days in the studio finishing up my painting for the PBR Art Show on Saturday, which is turning out pretty cool! I will be doing a little gallery/studio tour with photos for the blog in the next day or so, be sure to check it out!

Movember Mustache Party Live Painting

Friday, November 20th, 2009

I’m doing a live painting at Icelandic Gallery for a Movember Mustache Party fundraiser tonight on Sante Fe in Denver.  The party is a fundraiser to help raise awareness and a cure for prostate cancer. Awesome giveaways by Icelantic, Bula, O’neill and Skullcandy plus much more! Also there will be drinks, music. I will be rocking a week old, super gross mustache. Come, point fingers and laugh at my face, but most importantly have a great time for a great cause. More info can be found on facebook.

Here is a quick sketch of the painting I’m doing. Should be Pretty fun!

Illiterate Magazine’s “Where the Wild Things Art”

Illiterate's new space on 82 South Broadway.

Illiterate's new space on 82 South Broadway.

I am so grateful that I was able to be apart of Illiterate Magazine’s debut art show at their brand new space on South Broadway in Denver last week, it was such a great experience to show along-side some of the best artists in Denver. The collection of work was absolutely stunning, I was in awe of the talent the graces our fair city. The work from John Fellows and Scot LaFavor stood out the most for me.

The show will be up until December, so there is plenty of time to see it in person, but if you missed the opening you can check out the evening’s recap here. Also, I did a mini-interview for Illiterate to help promote the show, you can read it here.

The gallery looked great!
